Legalizing Marijuana
We must expand our medical marijuana program to include all those who can benefit from its use. We also should rapidly move towards the full legalization of marijuana that has been massively successful in other states, expunge the State criminal records of past users, and create a pathway for all New Yorkers to benefit economically from this industry, not just a select few chosen by the Governor. I am the lead sponsor of the Marijuana Reform Act, which will make it illegal for a city agency to deny employment or a license/registration to someone just because they have a marijuana-related arrest or conviction.
