Voting Rights
New York State lags behind much of the nation in our outdated voting laws. In fact, we’re the second worst state when it comes to voter turnout because our current system is an Incumbency Protect Program. 2018 demonstrated how the Board of Elections has failed in its ability to serve engaged voters. We must do everything that we can to protect and expand voting rights and poll access. I support the creation of an early voting period, same day voter registration, automatic voter registration, translation services at poll sites, and investment in poll worker training.
